Technology
At Velvet Skin, we use the Apilux 3G. It surpasses all other intense pulsed light (IPL) systems on the market, the Apilux 3G offers rapid results and unmatched treatment comfort.
The Canadian-made Apilux 3G technology is rooted in a high-performance optical system known as Alternating Pulsed Light (APL), ensuring safe and efficient use for all skin types. Notably, its broad range of treatments (including hair removal, rejuvenation, vascular, pigmentary, acne) and its highly effective cooling system make it the best choice for you.
Alternating Pulsed Light
In contrast to some devices that emit a single light flash per application, APL technology empowers users to program a sequence of rapidly alternating light pulses during the same flash. This function multiplies the efficiency of each flash while adhering to the required skin thermal relaxation time. It also offers specific programming based on skin phototype and hair density to ensure safe and comfortable treatments. The specified thermal relaxation time for the skin is 12 to 15 times faster than for hair, allowing for a progressive accumulation of heat in the hair follicle during the same flash, ensuring the surrounding tissues remain undamaged.
Faster Treatment Time
The Apilux 3G's key feature is its handpiece, equipped with a generously wide contact surface of 15 mm by 50 mm. This enables the operator to cover areas more quickly with fewer flashes compared to laser or other conventional pulsed light devices.

Ideal Power Output
The power level of the light pulse is crucial for effective hair removal. The Apilux 3G can produce an adjustable fluence of up to 50 joules/cm2 (40 joules/cm2 USA/Canada), ensuring satisfactory results that will please your customers.

Comfort and Safety
With significant power at your disposal, ensuring customer comfort and safety is paramount. The Apilux 3G is equipped with thermoelectric plates and an internal water cooling circuit to protect the unit's lamp integrity and provide the skin with a soothing, analgesic sensation.

Thermoelectric System (Pelletier Effect)
The thermoelectric plates encompassing the optical waveguide on the handpiece can attain temperatures as low as -4 °C. During skin application, the waveguide offers immediate cooling, eliminating the need for external coolant between flashes.

Water Cooling
Since IPL lamps generate high levels of thermal energy, they can become very hot. Thanks to the Apilux 3G's water cooling technology, it can deliver intense light pulses in rapid succession without damaging the lamp, ensuring the unit's durability. In fact, the two Apilux 3G handpieces can emit up to 90,000 flashes.
